What is NAARA

NAARA is the acronym for Northwest Adventist Amateur Radio Association.  It is an organization made up of primarily Seventh-day Adventist amateur radio operators and others who are interested in radio communications as a hobby.  Most members are from the Northwest United States (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington) and from Western Canada, British Columbia and Alberta, however anyone is welcome to join or participate in the Association activities The purpose of the organization is to advance Adventist amateur radio through:

  1. Providing a support mechanism for radio communications for missionaries.
  2. Providing opportunities for radio operators to fraternize and share their radio experiences.
  3. Providing support for the training and licensing of other ham operators by developing training and providing training classes--with a particular focus on helping young people.
  4. Helping to develop trained radio operators to assist with communications during times of disaster.
